NNPCL and Aiteo have terminated security surveillance contracts with Amotoi Global Services and other companies due to substantial fraud and other irregularities.

The AEEPCO, the operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC)/Aiteo Joint Venture on OML 29, has announced the immediate termination of the contract."

The Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (AEEPCO) has ended its surveillance security contract with Amotoi Global Services Ltd, a company owned by Clement Amunaboye, a legal practitioner.

The AEEPCO, which operates the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC)/Aiteo Joint Venture on OML 29, has announced the immediate termination of the contract."

The company also announces the termination of similar contracts with three other surveillance security service providers, namely Obiene M Obiene (also known as “Organizer”), Thomas Livingstone, and Christopher Ezekiel Enu.

“We regret to inform you that the contract agreements have been terminated, as stated in our official statement released on Monday. This decision affects all regulatory and governmental authorities within the oil and gas industry, as well as law enforcement and security agencies. Additionally, all relevant third parties associated with matters concerning the security of our operational facilities and infrastructure, regardless of their location or connection, are impacted by this termination”. - AEEPCO said.

The oil firm has terminated the contracts due to the confirmation of various detrimental and illegal activities that have jeopardized our operations. These activities constitute serious safety violations, blatant fraud, harmful criminal acts, gross negligence, and the unacceptable cumulative exposure of our assets and business. The aforementioned entities, individual security contractors, and service providers are responsible for these actions.

"Accordingly, any/all relationships/transactions with them, whether jointly or severally, purportedly on our behalf, cease forthwith.

"Any further involvement with these entities or individuals ostensibly pertaining to our company is hereby disclaimed."

The AEEPCO’s Group Managing Director, Victor Okoronkwo, said, "For many years, our organization and its stakeholders have endured the severe consequences of crude theft, facility vandalism, and crude trafficking. These actions have resulted in substantial financial losses and significant disruptions to our operations.

"Despite the painful price we have had to pay, it is particularly galling to discover that we have been undermined by the entities or individuals who are supposed to secure our facilities and output.

"This speaks to the depth of the decay and the severity of the problem facing producers like us and calls for a heightened, urgent and comprehensive escalation and implementation of corrective measures."

Earlier report revealed that a surveillance operation in Bayelsa State uncovered illegal bunkering camps and suspected perpetrators. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s Joint Operation on pipeline surveillance in Bayelsa linked a prominent security firm to extensive oil theft operations.

On the early morning of Sunday, June 23, 2024, security personnel conducted routine patrols in the Okoroba region of the Nembe Local Government Area in Bayelsa State.

It has come to our attention that their mission took them in the direction of the Elemuama region, where they uncovered a hidden bunkering camp.

Consequently, the agents reportedly took action to shut down the illicit operation, uncovering compelling evidence that implicated Amotoi Global Services Limited (Amotoi Global), an entity allegedly connected to Barr Amunaboye Clement.

Amotoi Global offers surveillance security services to Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company (Aiteo), an oil exploration company owned by prominent African entrepreneur Benedict Peters..

The identity cards of the Amotoi Global employees found on-site and other incriminating evidence raised serious concerns about Amunaboye and his company's potential involvement in illicit oil bunkering activities in the region.
