Netflix, a prominent video streaming platform, has recently announced an adjustment to its subscription pricing in Nigeria.

The Premium Plan has experienced a 40% increase, moving from N5,000 to N7,000 per month. This marks the second price adjustment within a three-month period, following an earlier increment in April of this year.

Based on the recent price adjustment posted on the company’s official website, the Standard plan subscription, known for its high-definition quality and multiple screen viewing features, has been raised from N4,000 to N5,500.  This modification translates to an increase of approximately 37.5%.

The cost of Netflix’s Basic plan has increased by 21%, moving from N2,900 to N3,500. Additionally, the lowest subscription tier, Mobile, has experienced an 83% price hike, rising from N1,200 to N2,200.

In April, the popular streaming service revealed a price increase for its Premium Plan, raising it to N5,000 from N4,400. Additionally, the Standard Plan was adjusted from N3,600 to N4,000, while the Basic Plan stayed at N2,900.

Netflix explained that these changes were made as part of a larger plan to adjust subscription fees globally, with the goal of boosting revenue and earnings by expanding content options through periodic price adjustments.
