In collaboration with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), Invest Africa, a prominent pan-African trade and investment platform, and the Africa Infrastructure Development Association (AfIDA), Africa GreenCo Group and its subsidiaries (collectively referred to as GreenCo) are launching an initiative to provide support to local developers and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) within the SADC region.With the goal of addressing regional power shortages, this initiative provides crucial guidance throughout project development stages, contributing to a more sustainable and dependable energy sector. GreenCo and its partners will conduct a series of meetings and webinars centered around project development, financing mechanisms, regulatory requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and more.
GreenCo is dedicated to fostering and propelling sustainable expansion within the regional energy industry. From August through December, GreenCo and its partners will be hosting a series of monthly events, extending invitations to members of the investment community to take part. These events will provide a platform for projects to be showcased to international lenders and investors through AfIDA's incubator program at the program's conclusion.

This initiative will be launched at the Energy Forum for Africa Conference in Zambia, on August 16, 2024, in Lusaka, Zambia. The webinars will form part of the actionable outcomes of the forum, focusing on identifying sustainable solutions to the current energy crisis in Zambia and Zimbabwe and mitigating power shortages in the region.
