Eintracht Frankfurt has successfully secured the services of
Can Uzun, an 18-year-old Turkish forward, on a five-year contract. This
acquisition is a testament to the club’s commitment to nurturing and developing
young talent within the German football landscape.
Uzun, a native of Germany, demonstrated exceptional
performance during the previous season while playing for Nuremberg, a
second-division team, where he impressively scored 19 goals in 32 games. It is
noteworthy that he declined other offers before joining our organization.
“Can Uzun is one of the biggest talents in Germany,”
Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche said in a statement.
“We’re therefore delighted that he has chosen us ahead of
several interesting offers that he received from all around Europe. He has
incredible skills for his age. We’ve outlined our precise plans to Can and he’s
bought into them.”
Uzun made his international debut for Turkey in March but
was not included in the squad for Euro 2024.
