Canadian vocalist, Céline Dion, renowned for her Grammy accolades, made a triumphant return to the stage on Friday. She graced the opening ceremony of the prestigious 2024 Olympic Games held in the illustrious city of Paris.

The 56-year-old luminary presented a profoundly poignant rendition of Édith Piaf’s timeless classic, “Hymne à l’amour.” Her performance emanated from the very foundation of the iconic Eiffel Tower, marking her first public appearance in four years.

Celine Dion, who has been managing stiff-person syndrome and has not performed publicly since 2020, conveyed her delight and privilege in participating in the esteemed event.

“I’m honored to have performed tonight for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities!” Dion said in a statement.

The athletes' dedication and hard work were commended and celebrated for their outstanding achievements.


“Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance. All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you!” she added.

Dion made her second Olympic Games appearance at the Paris 2024 Games, where she was reportedly paid for her performance by TMZ.

Even with her health challenges, Dion had made a promise to continue performing despite her condition.

During an interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today Show, she expressed her strong will to get back on stage, even if it meant facing challenging situations.
