CapCut will cease to provide complimentary cloud storage services, effective August 5.

Effective August 5, Bytedance’s video editing application CapCut will discontinue providing complimentary cloud storage for the purpose of hosting creative assets.

In the recent past, our valued users have been notified of an adjustment in Capcut’s terms and conditions specifically concerning the free tier. Previously, Capcut offered a complimentary 1 GB of cloud storage, however, this feature will no longer be available. Moving forward, cloud storage on Capcut will require a subscription.

CapCut provides two storage options: a $2.49 per month plan for 100GB and a $7.49 per month plan for 1000GB. This may necessitate additional storage purchases or the use of a third-party cloud service provider for file sharing.

The application previously provided access to up to five collaborators on a single account under the complimentary tier; however, this limit is being revised to accommodate a maximum of two individuals.

As of August 5th, users will be granted the ability to add one collaborator to their CapCut account at no charge. For those seeking to collaborate with a larger group of individuals, CapCut offers the Team Tier package, which enables CapCut users to collaborate with multiple user accounts and utilize a shared cloud space.

In the first quarter of this year, YouTube expanded the availability of its Create application, a competitor to CapCut, to thirteen additional markets, including Brazil, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
