It was a moment of change and new beginnings at the Port Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command as Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan took over the reins as the new Customs Area Controller. The deployment followed the elevation of Saidu Abba Yusuf to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Customs.
As Comptroller Daniyan addressed a gathering of officers and
stakeholders during the brief handover ceremony, his message was clear: maximum
revenue collection and enhanced trade facilitation would be his top priorities.
He vowed to fully implement the provisions of the Nigeria Customs Service Act
(NCSA) 2023, leveraging his wealth of experience and robust interaction at PTML
to achieve these goals.
With a strong determination in his voice, Comptroller
Daniyan declared, “We will step up strategies to prevent revenue leakages and
ensure that the government’s economic goals are met through the Nigeria Customs
Service.” His words resonated with the audience, inspiring confidence in his
leadership.
As he took charge, Comptroller Daniyan inherited a command
that had recently achieved a remarkable feat – a record revenue collection of
N66,920,181,586.30 for the first quarter of 2024, surpassing last year’s
figures by 49.6%. The command was also renowned for its efficiency in trade
facilitation, having previously achieved a remarkable three-hour cargo
clearance for compliant traders.
With Comptroller Daniyan at the helm, the PTML Command was
poised for even greater heights, as he brought his expertise and passion for
excellence to the forefront.
His leadership marked a new chapter in the command’s
history, one that promised to be filled with achievements and success.
