Comedian and actor, Mr. Macaroni, has come to the defence of Don Jazzy, a music executive who was recently thrown shade by fellow musician Wizkid.
BrandIconImage reported that Wizkid took a swipe at Don
Jazzy on Monday after Ladipoe, a Mavin signee, threw shades at him.
When Wizkid was called out for Ladipoe’s comments, he
boasted that he never chatted with anyone signed to an influencer.
He also retweeted some tweets that suggested he was
referring to Don Jazzy as a mere social media influencer.
Reacting via his X handle on Monday afternoon, Mr. Macaroni
said while Don Jazzy is influential across music, content, films, and brands,
the context in which Wizkid called him “an influencer” was disrespectful to
“everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.”
He noted that Don Jazzy is an “absolute legend” who is
selfless and has shown support to many entertainers in the country regardless
of their status.
Mr Macaroni wrote: “Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest
Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his
influence cuts across. From music to content, films, brands etc.
“However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context
in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has
done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.
“An absolute legend. He promotes Music artists even outside
his record label. Gives free advice and visibility to up-and-coming artists,
and shows love to everyone irrespective of their status. I am also a
beneficiary of his phenomenal influence! Don Baba J!!!! Your Influence
Choke!!.”
