Marketing professional, Olusesan Ogunyooye has been promoted to the position of Head of Marketing at AXA Mansard, a leading insurance and asset management company in Nigeria.
Prior to his promotion, he was the
Head, Brand and Communication of the company.
In his new position, Ogunyooye will
be responsible for the brand, marketing, and communications leadership for the
AXA master brand and sub-brands and categories across insurance, health, and
investment.
He will also be responsible for
leading the domestication of the AXA brand in Nigeria including formulating
strategies that would lead to increased market share, revenue support, and
return on marketing investment across the company's Lines of Business (LoBs)
and verticals in the retail and emerging customers’ space.
In addition, he is also expected to deliver on the brand equity and sustainability metrics set by AXA Global and manage the various global contracts in Nigeria.
Excited about his new role, Ogunyooye wrote on his LinkedIn page, "When I was going to make the jump two years ago. I was afraid, again I had heard many tales about sharks in the financial service sector. I was almost cowed again. But thank God I didn't. I found AXA Mansard. I found a purpose that I could share and own-acting for human progress."
Before joining AXA Mansard, he worked at Alpha Mead Facilities Management and Services Ltd as the Brand and Communications Manager where he contributed to the growth of the organisation.
Ogunyooye is a 2013 recipient of
the prestigious Fulbright to Michigan State University, U.S.A., where he
taught, and took classes in Media Studies, Advanced Sales Communication, and
Communication Campaign Designs.
Within the first six months of his
professional career, Ogunyooye rose from an in-house journalist to manage and
direct communications for 3Invest Limited - one of Nigeria's leading Real
Estate Advisory Companies.
In this capacity, he managed
different media campaigns and partnerships worth millions of naira with local
and international media, including Forbes Africa, CNN, and How We Made It In
Africa.
Shortly before leaving for the
U.S., Ogunyooye had a stint with the Marketing and Corporate Services unit of
Brila FM - Africa’s first and Nigeria’s only all-sport radio station. As a
Brand Strategist, his creative ingenuity still resonates with his signature
“Jack of One Trade… Master of SPORTcasting” still playing on the airwaves.
Having sealed two major
partnerships and a deal worth over N5m in his first 90 days at Brila FM; he was
invited to the strategy team where he had the privilege to work with three top
management members. This team secured a Partnership with Google Nigeria – he
managed this relationship until his exit - and delivered Brila FM’s flagship
event, “Wave Ur Banner” season 5, worth N100 million in sponsorship.
Besides writing Public
Speeches/Presentations for Business Leaders in Nigeria, Ogunyooye has over 20
published articles to his credit.
He has worked closely with other
media experts on projects such as the UKaid DFID GEMS 2 Affordable Housing
Round Table in 2012; AM Facility World Facility Management Day 2012, 2013 &
2014; African Property Investment Summit, South Africa 2013; Sub-Shara Property
Investment Summit, London 2013 among others.
