The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, Islamic Republic of Pakistan officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the OIC General Secretariat Jeddah. The MoU was signed on the OIC side, by H.E. Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Affairs, and on the UMT side, by H.E. Vice Marshal (Rtd) Dr. Asif Raza, Rector.

His Excellency. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the OIC, and His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Fawad Sher, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the OIC, graciously witnessed the signing ceremony. 

The MoU outlines the provision of scholarships by the UMT to students from OIC Member States and establishes a comprehensive framework for long-term collaboration. This framework includes student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, and publications with universities across OIC Member States. It paves the way for a sustained and impactful partnership between UMT and the OIC General Secretariat. 

The partnership aims to strengthen ties between the OIC and UMT, paving the way for innovative initiatives that contribute to advancing education and cultural understanding amongst the OIC Member States on an international scale.
