On the other hand, Rodrygo is on the verge of establishing
himself as a starter as well, and he reminded the world what he is capable of
with a brace against Chelsea in the Champions League away at Stamford Bridge.
The club made a big splash recently as well, agreeing a €60
million transfer package with Palmeiras for Endrick, who is still just 16 years
of age. He will arrive in the Spanish capital in 2024.
It looks like Los Blancos are continuing to keep their eyes on
the brightest Brazilian talents though. And one who has caught their attention
has a €200 million release clause in his current deal with Flamengo. It is
Matheus Franca. There is a lot of competition for his signature though.
As reported by Globoesporte (via AS), Crystal Palace have
sent a club representative to Brazil to watch Franca. Flamengo have already
turned down offers of €20 million from Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen.
Real Madrid have been tracking the youngster since 2021.
Real Madrid want Brazilian with €200 million release clause
While there might be an astronomical release clause in
Franca’s deal, one would expect his actual transfer fee to be significantly
lower if or when he does leave Flamengo. There does not seem to be any lack of
suitors for his signature.
Franca has the ability to play both as an attacking
midfielder and as a centre-forward, and he has already shown a good eye for
goal. He is also just 19 years of age and expected to get better with time and
experience.
It is not hard to understand why Real Madrid would be
interested in signing Franca, considering the success that they have had in
recent times when signing Brazilian wonderkids.
