The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the twin terrorist attacks in Sevare and Mourdia in Central Mali on 22 April 2023, Eid El-Fitr day, in which at least 9 persons were killed and more than 60 were injured.

The OIC Secretary-General, Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, described as despicable these attacks which continue to target innocent civilians and called for an end to them. He reaffirmed the OIC’s full solidarity with Mali and the countries of the Sahel in their war against terrorism.

The Secretary-General expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured quick recovery.
