NCDC who disclosed this on its official
Facebook handle said the new cases were recorded in Lagos, Kaduna and Rivers
with 5, 4 and 4 cases respectively.
While five states; Abia, Delta, FCT, Kano and
Sokoto reported zero cases.
Tuesday’s 13 new cases which indicated a significant
decrease from the 37 infections recorded on Saturday took the total number of
infections in the country to 255,766.
With no fatalities recorded, the health
officials noted that the death toll still stands at 3,143.
NCDC added that between Saturday 29th of April till
today, three people recovered from the infection and were on Tuesday discharged
from hospital across the country, this raised the total recoveries to 249,914.
While the number of active cases has increased
to 2,709 as at May 2 2022, NCDC added that 5,114,703 blood samples had been tested
since the pandemic began in 2020.
