Originally slated for a Wednesday, May 25
release, the highly-anticipated prequel has now been scheduled to make its
debut on Friday, May 27 for a two-episode premiere.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will see the return of Ewan
McGregor to the Star Wars universe as he reprises his iconic role as the
titular Jedi master, wh
“The story begins 10 years after the
dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his
greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi
apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord
Darth Vader,” reads the official synopsis.

Joining the returning Star Wars alums are
franchise newcomers Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Godzilla:
King of the Monsters), Sung Kang (F9: The Fast Saga), Moses Ingram (The Queen’s
Gambit), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Rupert Friend (The French Dispatch),
Simone Kessell (Of Kings and Prophets), Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems) and Maya
Erskine (PEN15).
Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow
from a script written by Joby Harold. Executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy,
