In a latest report, Nigeria registered 32 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC said Monday, adding that 38 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the same period of time.

The fatalities still at 3,142, with no new death reported in the last 24 hours, according to NCDC.

The total number of people who have contracted the virus in Nigeria has now risen to 254,325, out of which 230,793 people have recovered and have been discharged.

Nigeria has so far tested 4,317,621 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

As of Monday active cases in Nigeria stand at 20,390, dropped by 6 from 20,396 it was the previous day.

The health officials said the additional positive samples of coronavirus were recorded in 4 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The breakdown shows that Kwara reported 17 cases, Lagos had 7, FCT had 5, Rivers had 2 and Kaduna had 1 case.

NCDC added that Bauchi, Kano, and Plateau reported no cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
