Health officials in Nigeria reported another 344 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, along with 308 recoveries, as the number of active infections dropped by 34

The public health officials added that the country recorded no new death from the virus, which had claimed over 2,700 lives in the country.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC's online COVID-19 dashboard, there have been 206,623  cumulative COVID-19 cases in Nigeria. Of those, 194,475 people have recovered and 2,731 have died due to COVID-19.

Total active cases of infection in the country now stands at 9,355.

NCDC noted that the additional cases were from 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with Abuja (FCT) reporting 79 cases, the  highest number of infections for the day, followed by Lagos, Rivers and Kaduna with 62, 45 and 33 respectively.

Others are Plateau-22, Edo-16, Benue-13, Kano-12, Cross River-11, Delta-11, Anambra-9, Abia-8, Jigawa-7, Bauchi-4, Ekiti-4, Kwara-4, Oyo-2, Akwa Ibom-1 and Nasarawa-1.

While Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto reported zero cases.

NCDC added that the report includes Eight cases reported from Benue state from September 21st (1), 22nd (4), 24th (2) and 25th (1) 2021 and 1 death reported from Benue state for October 2nd (1) 2021.

One case reported from Nasarawa for October 4th 2021.

Four cases reported from Kwara state for October 4th 2021.

Thirty-three cases reported from Kaduna state for October 4th (16) & 5th (17) 2021.

Forty discharged cases reported from Plateau state for October 4th (39) & 5th (1) 2021.
