The health officials in Nigeria confirmed additional 175 cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 on Tuesday.

According to reports by the health officials, the new cases were recorded in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The country recorded no death due to the infection in the last 24 hours, and an additional 310 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, the report showed.

Nigeria's active has dropped to 9,461 from 9,597 its was the previous day.

With the fresh COVID-19 cases, the total caseload in the country reached 208,153, the nationwide death toll from the virus stands at 2,756 and 195,936  recoveries have been recorded since last year, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed via its official website.

The breakdown of the newly added COVID-19 cases shows that within a 24 hour period, FCT Lagos and Rivers reported 73, 34 and 15 respectively.

Others as follows Gombe-13, Kano-10, Plateau-8, Katsina-6, Bauchi-5, Delta-5, Benue-4 and Nasarawa-2.

NCDC added that 7 out the 36 states and FCT in the country reported zero cases on Tuesday, including Edo, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Ondo Oyo and Sokoto.
