Nigeria recorded two deaths due to COVID-19 and 167 fresh cases on Friday in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to data shared by the health officials on Saturday via its official website. 

The death toll due to the coronavirus infection in Nigeria stands at 2,769 and the number of cumulative COVID-19 cases stood at 208,797.

 As many as 99 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, health officials said. Currently,  a total of 196,425 patients have recovered from the disease and discharged across the country.

The active caseload increased by 66 on Friday. Now stands at 9,603.

Among the latest cases, the data showed 68 are in Rivers, 43 in FCT and 24 in Lagos.

Plateau had 10, Niger had 8, Edo had 5, Kano had 4, Benue and Oyo reported 2 cases each and Delta had 1 case.

Today’s report includes six states with zero cases reported: Benue, Gombe, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Sokoto, according to NCDC.
