Nigeria on Friday reported another three coronavirus-related deaths and 477 fresh COVID-19 cases in 17 states and Federal Capital Territory in a 24 hours period.

With 189 people having fought off the highly contagious disease on Friday, there were 9,109 active coronavirus cases, data shows

The total number of people who have contracted the virus in Nigeria has now risen to 203,991, out of which 192,139 people have recovered and have been discharged.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed this via its official website late Friday

NCDC further reported that 2,671 people have lost their lives to the coronavirus disease since February 27 last year, when the country reported its first COVID-19 case.

The breakdown of the fresh COVID-19 cases as released by NCDC as follows Lagos-113, Rivers-79, FCT-68, Kaduna-68, Delta-37, Abia-36, Oyo-16, Benue-12, Akwa Ibom-9, Plateau-9, Cross River-7, Edo-6, Ekiti-6, Katsina-4, Jigawa-3, Bayelsa-2, Ogun-1 and Yobe-1.

Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto states on Friday reported no cases of the virus.

Today's report includes 29 confirmed case from Kaduna on 23rd  and 39 on 24th of September 2021.
