The Branch Controller of the apex bank, Wahab
Oseni, at the handing over of the facility, held at the substation at
Oke-Egunya area of the state capital, said the initiative was the brain-child
of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Oseni explained that Emefiele had directed all
state branches to ensure that they embarked on one project on an annual basis
that would impact positively the people.
He hinted that there was no special fund
provided for the gesture by the bank to execute the projects, saying the funds
are provided by members of staff of the bank.
He added that the bank had embarked on no
fewer than 13 projects since the idea was muted and that such projects include
the provision of generating sets, renovation of schools; provision of desks and
chairs to schools among others.
“It became a befitting project to do for the
NTA because of the information, communication and entertainment we enjoy from
them.
“On behalf of the Governor of Central Bank,
and his team, who mandated all state capital offices to do something every
year,” he said.
He appealed to other organisations and
well-meaning Nigerians to assist the NTA Abeokuta, saying “there’s more to be
done.”

Manager NTA Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama commended the Central Bank for the
project, while promising its judicious use.

station would be enjoying from the guard post would go a long way in solving
their security challenges in the station and in the community.
Wakama called on other people and organisations
to take a cue from what the CBN has done to support the station.
Also speaking the Commissioner of Police, CP

I’ve back to society.
