Nigeria health officials on Sunday logged fresh COVID-19 cases,  as another 203 people contracted the disease in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed this late Sunday .

NCDC also announced the discharge of 27 patients from hospitals across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.

Active cases in Nigeria increased by 175, now stands at 2,706.

The total number of people who have contracted the virus in Nigeria has now risen to 169,532, out of which 164,699 people have recovered and have been discharged.

Meanwhile, one fatality were recorded by the health officials today, with which the country's COVID-19 death toll rose to 2,127.

The breakdown of the latest COVID-19 figure state-by-state is as follows: Lagos-186, Edo-4, Oyo-4, Rivers-4, FCT-3 and Kwara-2.

Seven of the states in the country reported zero cases on Sunday: Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Ogun, Ondo, Plateau and Sokoto.
