Nigeria registered 154 new COVID-19 cases in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory in the last 24 hours.

The latest data released by the health officials shows that, Lagos, the most affected regional state reported 119 cases, 11 in Akwa-Ibom and 6 in Rivers.

While Oyo reported 5 cases, Ekiti and Ogun had 4 cases each, FCT and Gombe reported 2 cases and Kwara with 1 case.

Today’s report includes data from Oyo State for 11th July, 2021. And 5 states with zero cases reported: Imo, Kano, Oyo, Plateau and Sokoto, the health officials said.

The figures raised overall coronavirus tally in the country to 168,867, according to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC late Tuesday.

Nigeria’s active caseload has now mounted to 2,119, with active cases up by 6 in the last 24 hours.

An additional 147 patients have beaten the coronavirus disease COVID-19, pushing the country's overall recovery count to 164,623 or 97.5 percent of the Nigeria’s total case tally.

Meanwhile, 1 more patient succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide death toll to 2,125.
