Today, July 4, Nigeria health  officials announced 56 new cases of COVID-19 and 4 people were reported  to have recovered from the disease and discharged.

Health officials in the country also confirmed that no patient have died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 1,356, up from the previous day when it was at 1,304.

According to an update by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on its Facebook page Sunday, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified since the outbreak in Nigeria now stands at 167,859.

Meanwhile, a total of 164,382 patients recuperated and 2,121  deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 56 new cases were reported from 3 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Lagos-47 again reported the highest number of cases, while FCT, Ogun and Gombe reported 6, 2 and 1 respectively.

Today’s report includes, 9 state with 0 case reported - Sokoto, Rivers, Imo, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Oyo, Ekiti and Kano.
