Nigeria recorded 51 new COVID-19 cases in 3 states and  the Federal Capital Territory in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall coronavirus tally to 167,206, showed data released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC late Saturday .

Saturday’s case count is higher than Friday’s, which saw 13 new infections reported.

At least 10 people were discharged from hospitals on Saturday after recovered from the disease caused by coronavirus. To date, 163,550 people in Nigeria who tested positive for coronavirus have had their cases classified as resolved.

The health official noted that no patient died on Friday, the total number of lives lost to the disease remained 2,117.

According to the latest data from NCDC, 41 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 5 in Rivers, 3 in Gombe and FCT recorded 1 case.

Today's report includes, backlog of data from Lagos State recorded over the last three days. While Plateau, Imo, and Bauchi states reported no cases .
