The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Friday announced 13 new cases of COVID-19 with no coronavirus-related deaths in 3 states.

With the latest update by NCDC, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 167,155.

Tha health officials also announced the discharge of 5 patients from hospitals across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.

Active cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria has increased by 8 today, now stand at 1,498 . It was 1,490 the previous day.

Data obtained from the NCDC’s Facebook page shows that within a 24 hour period, Delta had 9 new infections, while Gombe and Rivers recorded 2 cases each.

The health officials noted that today's report includes, backlog of data from Delta State recorded from May 16, 2021. And no cases of the virus were reported in Bauchi State.

According to NCDC, till date, 167,155 cases have been confirmed, 163,540 cases have been discharged and 2,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
