As the worst pandemic continues to ravage throughout the world, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday confirmed 157 new COVID-19 infections with no coronavirus related death in 9 states. 

According to the agency via its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov, the total number of fatalities stands at 1,163, while 61,162 patients have been discharged after testing negative.

97 new infections of the virus were recorded in Lagos State, while Oyo, Kaduna and Bayelsa recorded 37, 9 and 3 respectively.

Other states with new infections are Edo-3, Ekiti-3, Ondo-2, Osun-2 and Plateau-1.

Nigeria has so far tested 705,809 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

In summary, on the 16th of November 2020, 157 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 65,305 cases have been confirmed, 61,162 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
