Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to the PS4 and PS5 on November 12th, but this week we got a glimpse of the game’s most important feature by far: Spider-Cat.

A new look at Spider-Man: Miles Morales reveals the web-slinging superhero's feline companion that helps fight crime. Miles Morales' new cat-panion is also named Spider-Man, and a glimpse at his crime-fighting skills show that he is as deadly as he is cuddly.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is Insomniac Games' second Sony-exclusive Spider-Man game, which was revealed in June of this year. The game's reveal caused confusion as to whether Miles Morales would receive his own full title or if he was a DLC to the original Spider-Man game on PlayStation 4. The confusion was later resolved, and it was confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be its own standalone title. Mile Morales has his own set of unique abilities that differ greatly from Peter Parker's, which should make the upcoming title feel like much more than a retread 2018's Spider-Man.

As the release date for Spider-Man: Miles Morales draws near, more information is being revealed about the title. An exclusive look from Game Informer revealed that Miles Morales will have a few companions that help him during his missions, including a crime-fighting cat. The cat is named Spider-Man and belongs to a bodega owner named Teo, who allows the two Spider-Men to team up to take down bad guys. The exclusive look also revealed a new, more casual suit that comes with a backpack carrying Spider-Man the cat. The cat comes equipped with his own Spider-Man mask and hops out of the bag to help Miles Morales perform signature takedowns.

Spider-Man the cat doesn't belong to Miles Morales but is the pet of a man named Teo whose bodega was robbed by a group of thugs. These thugs are also responsible for shutting off the power to presumably the bank they were attempting to rob. While flipping the power back on, Miles Morales finds Spider-Man the cat hanging from the breaker inside of a backpack. The mission ends with Miles returning Spider-Man the cat to Teo, but the two Spider-Men will team up again in the near future.

As much love and affection Teo shows Spider-Man the cat once he's returned home, it's a little odd that he is so gung-ho to send him out into the dangerous world of crime-fighting. Teo can be heard egging Spider-Man and his own cat to "get out there and go stop some crimes."

Spider-Man is great at protecting his city from the destructive forces of evil, but letting one's beloved cat accompany him on his missions seems a little too risky. Regardless, Spider-Cat will make his debut when Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in November.
