Despite the measures put in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19, Nigeria has continued to record new cases of infections. But on Sunday, the country recorded the lowest cases in months, which indicating that the virus is gradually receding in the country.

Nigeria, on Sunday night reported 58 new COVID-19 cases with zero death in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official Twitter handle.

In its latest update, the health agency revealed that 50 patients were  discharged from isolation centers across the country on Sunday.

According to the breakdown released by NCDC, Plateau reported 18 cases, the highest number of infections of the day, while Lagos, Kastina and Ogun recorded 15, 10, and 5 cases respectively.

Also, Four cases if the virus infections were found Kaduna,  three cases Edo and Ekiti, FCT and Ondo reported one case each. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 535,733 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

According to the health agency on the 4th of October 2020, 58 new confirmed cases and zero death was recorded in Nigeria.

Till date, 59,345 cases have been confirmed, 50,768 cases have been discharged and 1,113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
