Coronavirus cases in Nigeria continues to slow down. With the new update, the tally of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria rose to 61,930, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night announced 48 new cases of COVID-19 in country.

NCDC added that COVID-19 fatalities stands at 1,129 as no coronavirus related death recorded. While 95 people were discharged from various isolation centers. 

Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new infections were recorded in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the breakdown released by health agency, Lagos took the lead with 18 cases, FCT with 13 cases, Kaduna with 6 cases, Rivers and Ogun had 5 cases each and Ondo had 1 case.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 603,611 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

According to the NCDC, on the 24th of October 2020, 48 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria

Till date, 61,930 cases have been confirmed, 57,285 cases have been discharged and 1,129 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
