Legendary NBA big man Hakeem Olajuwon isn’t having any debates about the league’s greatest player of all-time.

The Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James debates heated up in 2020, thanks to ESPN’s The Last Dance and the Los Angeles Lakers winning the 2020 NBA Finals.

James now has four NBA championships to go against Jordan’s six. For many, the debate between Michael and LeBron is now extremely close. Some will even go as far to say that James is the superior player.

But not Olajuwon. The legendary Houston Rockets big man played during Jordan’s era and he believes that it’s not close.

“When people start comparing him (LeBron) with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison,” Hakeem Olajuwon said on CNBC, via Will Starjacki of the Basketball Network.

“Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, and he was very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

Olajuwon, 57, played in the NBA while Jordan was dominating, so it’s not surprising to see him go with the Chicago Bulls legend.

Still, most former NBA players won’t say it as clearly as he did.
