The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in an update on Monday night, announced 315 new positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 12,801.

Data from the centre shows that an additional 81 patients recovered from the virus infections in the country, bringing the total discharged people to 4040

The total number of fatalities from the virus rose to 361 after seven were confirmed dead of Coronavirus on Monday.

According to the country’s health agency in a tweet, the new cases were reported in 13 states and Federal Capital Territory.

A further breakdown of the new cases reveals that Lagos confirmed 128 new cases of the virus infection, FCT had 34 cases, Rivers with 32 cases, Edo reported 28 cases, Oyo had 22 cases, Kaduna confirmed 20 cases, Gombe reported 13 cases.
While Ogun recorded eight cases, Plateau confirmed five cases, Delta and Kwara reported seven cases each, Kano confirmed five cases, Bauchi reported four cases and Katsina confirmed two cases.

Nigeria has so far tested 78,244 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, 12801 cases have been confirmed, 4040 cases have been discharged and 361 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital .
