The new Range Rover Evoque is officially one of the safest luxury compact SUVs yet.
The Range Rover Evoque is Land Rover’s best-selling model, and the all-new version is expected to be a similar success story. A model as popular the Evoque needs to be as safe as possible. Luckily, you can be assured it’s one the safest luxury compact SUVs yet because the new Range Rover Evoque has been awarded a maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating during extensive crash tests. It may look similar to the last model, but the second-generation Evoque rides on Land Rover’s new Premium Transverse Architecture that makes the SUV stronger and stiffer, resulting in better crash protection for occupants.

Impressively, the luxury compact SUV scored 94 percent for adult occupant safety, which is the highest score of any Jaguar or Land Rover product to date, 87 percent for child occupant safety for those who plan to travel with younger passengers in the back. It also scored 72 percent for pedestrian safety and 73 percent for its suite of safety technology. As well as the new Range Rover Evoque, the most recent Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery SUV were also awarded five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP.

The independent safety board praised the Evoque for progress made over the first-generation model’s pedestrian safety rating, as the new model comes with Emergency Braking as standard. Other driver assists that come as standard to help prevent traffic accidents include Lane Keep Assist, Front and Rear Parking Aids, and a Rear Camera.

"These results show that car manufacturers are still keen and able to achieve the highest safety ratings,” Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP, comments. "It is especially encouraging to see the continued widespread deployment and improvement of advanced technologies such as AEB and lane support. It is good news that some of the basic driver assist technologies will finally be mandated from 2022, but thankfully most vehicle manufacturers are already way ahead of the curve today.”

In addition, a comprehensive system of airbags and restraints throughout the cabin – including a pedestrian airbag – mean owners can rest assured the luxury compact SUV will protect those inside and outside the vehicle.
The Range Rover Evoque is at home in the city and the country, so we added the latest technologies aimed at preventing accidents and a new vehicle architecture to protect occupants in the event of an incident. The result is another five-star performer from Land Rover.

The suite of advanced technologies on the new Range Rover Evoque includes Land Rover’s ClearSight Rear View Mirror. Transforming into an HD video screen at the flick of a switch, it offers a wider 50-degree field of vision and superior low light visibility by displaying a rear-facing camera feed from the top of the car. It is ideal when carrying passengers in the second row or bulky items in the rear loadspace obscure the view behind.

ClearSight Ground View technology is also available, effectively making the bonnet invisible by projecting camera imagery onto the upper touchscreen to show the driver a 180-degree view under the front of the vehicle. This is useful when negotiating difficult parking spaces, navigating high city centre kerbs or tackling rough terrain.
The new Range Rover Evoque is available to order now, priced from £31,600 OTR in the UK, and can be configured at www.landrover.co.uk
