The Unlisted Security Index and market capitalisation closed on a positive note last week as they gained 2.75 per cent.
The market capitalisation of listed equities increased from N513.16bn on February 15 to N527.25bn on February 22, while the USI closed at 733.89 basis points, higher than the 714.27bps recorded in the previous week.
At the end of last week, 626,162 shares valued at N39.99m exchanged hands in 53 deals, compared to the 2.70 million shares valued at N19.80m that exchanged hands in 32 deals the previous week.
Of the 39 securities admitted to trade on the NASD OTC market, only 11 were traded during the week.
Only one gainer ― FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc ― emerged at the end of trading on Friday as its share price increased by 5.29 per cent to close at N161.
The Central Securities Clearing System Plc was the only loser on Friday as it recorded a 2.38 per cent decline in its share price, which closed at N12.21.
The top traded stocks by value were UBN Property Company Plc, CSCS, FrieslandCampina, AG Mortgage Bank Plc and Light Financial Plc, while the top traded by volume were UBN Property Company, CSCS, AG Mortgage, FrieslandCampina and Light Financial.
However, CSCS & Niger Delta Exploration and Production Plc led the week by volume and value, respectively.
