What's in the Google Pixel and Pixel XL? Pretty much the same stuff, except for a couple crucial differences.
Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are made by HTC, but from a marketing perspective they're all Google. This means they're running the latest version of Android Nougat, version 7.1, with some Google Magic thrown in, but they're also top-of-the-line phones for late 2016. Here's what they have.
Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are two of the most anticipated phones of 2016. Announced at the company's press event in San Francisco in early October, the phones feature similar designs and specs in two sizes, 5 inches and 5.5 inches.
Both are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB of 128GB of internal storage. Like the Nexus 5X and 6P, the Pixel and Pixel XL have 12MP rear cameras with 1.55-micron pixels, with 8MP front-facing cameras.
Of course, different-sized phones have different battery sizes: the Pixel has a 2770mAh cell, and the Pixel XL has a much larger 3450mAh cell. Same with screen resolution: the smaller Pixel has a 5 inch 1080p AMOLED panel, while the Pixel XL has a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 pixel AMOLED display. Both are covered by Gorilla Glass 4.
The phones, which are made by HTC, have a dual-toned rear plate wit fingerprint sensors. And with USB-C, the phones support Fast Charge — 7 hours of battery in just 15 minutes.
