Arrangements have been concluded to hold the 63rd convention of the world’s fastest growing church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The annual event is scheduled to hold from Monday 3rd August to Sunday August 9th, 2015 and the theme is “The All Sufficient God.”
Sources close to the leaders of the church said that the programme, which usually holds at the mission’s permanent site on Km. 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway under the leadership of the General Overseer of the mission, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, would be a special edition.
They said that Daddy Adeboye has promised that God wants to use the occasion to deliver the oppressed, set the captiveS free, change sorrow to joy, poverty to riches, failure to success and use it as another opportunity to bless the people of the country generally.
The sources added that the annual event will feature ordination, lectures, songs ministration, Holy Communion service, deliverance programme, sermons amongst others.

Apart from Pastor Adeboye that would minister at the event that attracts millions of worshippers every year, guest ministers from different denominations have been invited to minister to people at the week-long event.

The RCCG was founded in 1952 by Reverend Josiah Akindayomi after he had been involved in several other churches. In the early 1970s, Akindayomi started to look for an educated successor, who was not at that time a member of the church. He chose Pastor Enoch Adeboye, a lecturer in mathematics at the University of Lagos, who joined the church in 1973. Adeboye initially became one of the interpreters translating Akindayomi’s sermons from Yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975, and was formalized by the posthumous reading of Akindayomi’s sealed pronouncement.
