The officer, M.G Damina who is in charge of Jos North LGA was arrested a week ago following the confession of an arms trafficker who was arrested in Bauchi a fortnight ago.
Damina is also the armoury officer in the state headquarters. He was implicated by the Bauchi trafficker who described him during interrogation as one of their leaders.
Sources within the SSS also said Damina had been under surveillance before an operation by officers from the headquarters in Abuja which led to the discovery of other guns in his house, adding that a female officer is now acting as head of the Jos North office.
