Chelsea remain determined to complete the permanent signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United this summer, despite a recently revealed £5 million ($6.4 million) cancellation clause in their loan agreement, according to Monday's reports.

The 24-year-old winger joined the Blues last August in a structured deal that included an obligation to buy for £25 million. While Sancho initially impressed at Stamford Bridge, his output has dwindled – with just two goals all season and none since December – casting doubt over his long-term future.

Mixed Form, Manager's Backing

Despite struggling to cement a starting role in Enzo Maresca's Champions League-chasing side, Chelsea appear ready to honor the transfer. The club is banking on Sancho rediscovering the electrifying form he displayed during last season's Champions League final run with Borussia Dortmund.

Maresca has publicly supported the England international, praising his development since his high-profile fallout with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in 2023. That dispute saw Sancho frozen out at Old Trafford before his Dortmund loan revival.

Summer Plans Unaffected

Even with Sancho's expected arrival, Chelsea continue to monitor attacking reinforcements. The Blues were linked with United's Alejandro Garnacho in January and may still pursue additional wing options when the transfer window reopens.

The clause revelation highlights Chelsea's cautious approach, but all signs point to Sancho becoming a full-time Blue next season as the club bets on his untapped potential.
